Semi-Finals: Results 21 August
Gstaad, August 20, 2010 NEWS FLASH Qualification games The first day of the 15th edition of the HUBLOT POLO GOLD CUP GSTAAD was marked by high performance and pleasant summer weather. The game plan read as follows: 1.30 pm: Team Bank Baring Brothers Sturdza vs. Team Hublot 3.00pm: Team Star Design vs. Team Gstaad Palace. The first match was close and provided an exciting finish. Bank Baring Brothers Sturdza won 10 to 9 against Hublot. Both teams played extremely well. The difference was clearly made by Marcos Heguy (hcp 10) who marked 8 goals including the winning goal. The interactive team play between Marcos Heguy and Gaston Lauhle (hcp 7) was excellent. Team Hublot was led by the always superb coordination and interplay of the Mendendez brothers (hcp 7 and 6). The team was unlucky in that the winning goal was marked in the 30 seconds of the 5th chukker. The field, being in better condition for the teams of the first match, hampered Star Design and Palace Gstaad as they could not display as much speed as their predecessors. The result of this match was even tighter than the first one: Palace Gstaad Team won against Star Design by 7.5 to 7. The match was clearly led by Alejandro Agote (hcp 8). Together with Justo Saavedra (hcp 6) they made a perfect team, with Justo opening the game for Alejandro wherever possible. Star Design seized several opportunities. Newcomer Jack Richardson (hcp 3), 19 years old, was particularly impressive. Richardson was declared the best young player 2010 in Great Britain. The semi-final matches will take place on Saturday, 21 August at 1.30pm and 3pm. The game plan reads as follows: 1.30pm: Bank Baring Brothers Sturdza against Star Design 3.00pm: Gstaad Palace against Hublot. |
Gstaad, den 20. August 2010 NEWS FLASH Qualifikationsspiele Schönstes Sommerwetter und eine hervorragende sportliche Leistung zeichneten den ersten Tag der 15. Ausgabe des HUBLOT POLO GOLD CUP GSTAAD aus. Der Spielplan gestaltete sich, wie folgt: 13.30: Team Bank Baring Brothers Sturdza vs. Team Hublot 15.00: Team Star Design vs. Team Gstaad Palace. Mit einem sehr knappen Resultat endete die erste Runde: Das Team Bank Baring Brothers Sturdza gewann gegen Hublot 10 zu 9. Beide Teams lieferten eine ausgezeichnete Leistung. Marcos Heguy (hcp 10) war klar der Mann des Matchs mit 8 erzielten Goals, darunter das Entscheidende. Das eingespielte Team Heguy/Lauhle (hcp7) war perfekt. Im Team Hublot dominierte die geübte Koordination der Gebrüder Menendez (hcp 7 und 6). Doch hatte es Unglück in den letzten Verlängerungssekunden des 5. Chukkers, indem sein Gegner zum letzten Mal markierte. Die Teams, die sich im zweiten Match begegneten – Star Design und Gstaad Palace – konnten leider nicht die gleiche Schnelligkeit aufweisen, da das Spielfeld in einem schlechteren Zustand war als zu Beginn. Das Resultat dieses Spiels fiel noch knapper aus: Gstaad Palace hat gegen Star Design 7,5 zu 7 gewonnen. Das Spiel wurde eindeutig von Alejandro Agote (hcp 8) dominiert, der mit Justo Saavedra (hcp 6) ein perfektes Duo bildete. Justo liess keine Möglichkeit aus, Alejandro das Spiel zu öffnen. Star Design hat einige gute Gelegenheiten wahrnehmen können. Jack Richardson (hcp 3) hat sich besonders durch sein Spiel ausgezeichnet. Er wurde dieses Jahr in Grossbritannien zum „Best Young Player“ gekürt. Die Halbfinale finden am 21. August um 13.30 und um 15.00 Uhr statt. Demi-finales du 21 août: Résultats Gstaad, le 20 août 2010 NEWS FLASH matches qualificatives La première journée de la 15ème édition de la HUBLOT POLO GOLD CUP GSTAAD s’est déroulée sous un soleil ardent et fut marquée par des performances sportives d’excellence. Le plan de jeu se présentait comme suit: 1h30: Team Bank Baring Brothers Sturdza contre Team Hublot 3h00: Team Star Design contre Team Gstaad Palace. Le premier match s’est terminé sur un résultat serré. Le team Banque Baring Brothers Sturdza a remporté la victoire contre Hublot par 10 à 9. Les deux teams ont livré une performance remarquable. La différence fut clairement établie par Marcos Heguy (hcp 10) qui a marqué 8 goals et dont le dernier qui fut décisif. Le jeu interactif de Marcos Heguy et Gaston Lauhle (hcp 7) fut parfait. Le team Hublot fut dominé par la superbe combinaison de réactions des frères Menendez (hcp 7 et 6). Il a toutefois dû s’incliner face à son adversaire qui a marqué le but gagnant dans les 30 secondes de prolongation du 5ème chukker. Les teams s’affrontant pendant le deuxième match, à savoir Star Design et Gstaad Palace, n’ont pas pu montrer autant de rapidité de jeu que leurs prédécesseurs, le terrain se trouvant dans une moins bonne condition après le premier match. Le résultat de ce jeu fut encore plus serré que celui du premier : Gstaad Palace a gagné contre Star Design par 7,5 à 7. La partie fut clairement menée par Alejandro Agote (hcp 8) qui a su établir un jeu admirable avec Justo Saavedra (hcp 6), Justo ouvrant le jeu à Alejandro à chaque possibilité. Star Design a su saisir de bonnes opportunités de jeu. Le nouveau venu Jack Richardson (hcp 3) a particulièrement impressionné par son jeu. A 19 ans, Richardson a remporté le titre de « best young player 2010 » au Royaume Uni. Les demi-finales auront lieu samedi 21 août à 13h30 et 15h00 respectivement.
